Trustworthy dentist recs?
Main Post:
I’m looking for recommendations for a trustworthy dentist preferably in the area of 89128, that does not make up extra crap and lies to try to extract the most money possible from patients and insurance.
Top Comment: Hello!! You should call or text Southern Nevada Dental Society at 702-901-1495. Office hours are between 8:30-4:30 M-F. They can help you find a trustworthy dentist in or close to that zip code. The Executive Director has a great relationship with a lot of dentists in the Vegas area and I can attest on personal experience she’ll want to make sure you’re with a trustworthy dentist!
Looking for Dentist Recommendations
Main Post:
It has been a little while since going to a dentist and recently moved here. Are there any dental offices anyone would recommend that would be both competent as well as honest? I know healthcare here is mostly terrible but figured I would try out this community. I went to Boca Park Dental for a first time appt and it was "well you need a crown here, probably need root canals, all on top of never getting the cleaning done. I don't know if they are just trying to push crazy expensive procedures that aren't needed or not. I live in Summerlin so close to there would be great but not opposed to driving wherever if there is a worthwhile office to visit.
Top Comment: Island Dental. Been going there 15 years. They are very friendly and definitely don't push for work. I've had a few times my teeth were bothering me but they didn't jump right to crowns or root canals. All but one time the conservative approach worked.

Help - need a great dentist
Main Post:
Edited to say Thank You everyone for your recommendations! I will do some research and hopefully end up with a great dentist!!!!
Been looking through old posts but wanted to get some updated tips. I have had very bad luck in LV with dentists. Need urgent work (crowns, etc.), my mouth is in very bad shape. I have insurance so no problem there. Looking for a skilled dentist who doesn't have an attitude about someone with not so great teeth. I live west central but wouldn't mind a longer drive to a great dentist.
Top Comment: Vegas Smiles. I love everyone there. I am horribly scared of the dentist, and have had the best of luck there for years.
good dentists in vegas?
Main Post:
Hello, Reddit (: I’m looking for dentist recommendations! To preface, I haven’t gone to the dentist since i left my home country, 13 years ago. I am needing some cleaning, and maybe some work done but i am DEATHLY afraid of dentists, more specifically, feeling pain in my mouth. Do you guys recommend any dentists that are very caring, nice, and doesn’t stigmatize again people who are very, very scared of dentists?
thanks in advance!

Recommend a dentist?
Main Post:
Looking for a good dentist in the Summerlin area or close to it. Have seen a couple in the Las Vegas area and not impressed with their “lack of humanness” I guess you could say. Moved here less than 2 years ago from the upper Midwest where they didn’t charge $2k for a 6 month cleaning and didn’t try to lie and tell you that you needed a “root canal” on an implant before seeing on the x-ray it was an implant!
So if you can suggest a laid back and easy going dentist who treats their clients as humans...please let me know. Either in the comments or even DM.
Thanks!!
Top Comment: Be prepared for all of them to tell you that you need a “deep cleaning” even though your dentist where you previously lived never mentioned it.
Can anyone refer a trustworthy dentist?

Honost/Affordable dental care?
Main Post:
My girlfriend just got her dental exam. She has neglected care of her teeth so they are in bad shape.
5ish cavities and 1 possible root canal needed. I took her to budget dental and they want to do 4 crowns and a root canal. Not 1 filling. They also claim they cant clean her teeth cuz her gums are too sensitive. I can understand that but for some reason the $700 deep clean they can do but the $100 regular one they cant.
In total, they want 12 fucking thousand dollars ($12,300ish) We do not have dental insurance. It kicks in from her work in 2 months but I don't know how much if this will cover (if they even cover pre existing at all)
I feel like that is a MASSIVE rip off. I had 2 cavities filled for $200. Anyone know a reasonable dentist?
If I cant find one here I will call others around the country. $1300 per crown is crazy.

Los Algodones across the border from Yuma. I had a lot of cosmetic work done for about 40% of what they wanted here. 7 years later still looks great.
What dentists do y’all recommend?
Main Post:
I’ve been in Vegas for a couple years now and really haven’t been happy with the 3 different dentists I’ve tried out so far. Looking for a private practice preferably (not owned by private equity, Gentle Dental, Aspen, etc). All input appreciated, thanks! 😊
